Dear Mike:
Been working quite a bit with Luke. Thought I'd send an update. What a great dog! I plan to go through the local AKC hunting trials in March in Potomac MD. Going to try a pheasant hunt end of March. Once he locks onto a bird he doesn't move until I tell him it's okay. He's retrieving well also.
Thanks again for everything.
Peter
I thought you might like to see some photos of Ori from his first season. He has done exceptionally well. I harvested some 50 pheasant, a dozen quail and chukar so far this season. He is hunting exceptionally well, pointing and holds very well, and is retrieving.
I'd describe this first season as exceptional.
One of the vides is of him barking - he just discovered his voice a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Mike,
I would first like to thank you for softening Jeff’s heart to the point of me getting “Baron”. I tried on our first visit to your kennel to get him to let us get one of the white pups and he wasn’t going for it because he wanted one that looked like his beloved “Gunther”. Well after his research, I think it may have been less then 24 hours he was in touch with you for the chance to get the last of white pups especially the one I was holding that night. Well this Christmas was probably one of the greatest Christmas’ I’ve had in a long time, Jeff did well. When I opened the wrapped box and taped inside was a picture of Baron I just cried. I’m choking up now Thank you so much. I know Jeff has an ulterior motive of course since Baron is being trained as I write but that’s ok he is well worth it. And I love seeing him in action I think the birds are bigger then him. I hope the cat will be safe in our house; he should be fine as long as Baron doesn’t hear a gunshot as the cat strolls through all will be fine at the Flaws house. So again I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for having such an outstanding bloodline that made the decision on not only 1 puppy but the second we will be awaiting the arrival in March or April.
P.S ….you can now change the owner name of Baron from Mike in Odell to Jeff & Cindi of Plainfield. Thanks for keeping the surprise.
Best regards
Cindi
Dear Mike & June:
Jennie turned one year old on October 19, 2011. We brought her home near the end of March after your six weeks of hunting training. I stayed dedicated to the retrieving and wing instructions over the summer and took her out once to the club to reinforce her being shot over with a shotgun. Jennie is wonderful with all children, adults and other dogs. The photographs I am sending you represent Jennie’s very first hunt and second hunt of her life in Garden Prairie Illinois at Coon Creek. Both hunts included seeing and shooting mostly chukars and a few pheasants. The weather was a little warm at the end of October and the vegetation was still very high which made hunting conditions very difficult.
For Jennie’s first hunt I had her out alone without my 10 year old that I consider “master” G.S.P. (Kaylee) and she pointed four chukars and retrieved two of the three we shot. The third bird I enticed her by picking the bird up and tossing it and she retrieved it upon command. For her second hunt I put her together with Kaylee and I was so excited to see Kaylee go on point on a Rooster and Jennie to come to the side and behind her and honor Kaylee’s point. What a beautiful sight (see photo). Once the pheasant was flushed and shot, Jennie retrieved it as my “old master” let her. I have also added some photographs from this past summer when we were out tubing and swimming. Jennie likes to tube slowly with my son Mike at the lake and also loves to swim. We are very happy and proud owners of Jennie as she is a great family dog and I know as she further develops as a hunter she will become even better than she already is!

Mike,
Here is a picture of Cameron in the early hunting season. He had a good first season, probably pointed 20 birds, all wild. My two boys love him. Hope all is well...........

Mike & family:
I wanted to send you a shot of Jennie at nine months old. She is retrieving nicely on a regular basis. She will also hold point with the wing for at least two to three minutes on some occasions. I can’t wait to get her out hunting this fall. Jennie also loves to swim as we take the dogs out on our fish and ski boat and stop sometimes for a swim and she loves it. We run her with our 10 year old GSP at the dog park and have no issues with her running away. She will quarter pretty naturally and return to where the wife and I are walking if she does get out of sight for a few moments. Jennie loves to play with us and her 10 year old “sister” but is also very gentle for the most part around my 16 month old grandson. She was easy to house break and crate train. We only had two accidents in the crate the first week we had her and that was when we came in the door she didn’t hold it long enough to make it outside. However, as far as behaving in the house with what she is not suppose to “go after”, it is still a work in progress. Once we are in the field this fall I will try to take some good photos of her on point and the retrieve and send them to you. We are very happy with Jennie and she is a very loving dog.
Thanks,
Larry
Ike
Mike and family;
I just wanted to finally take a moment to give you an update on Ike. He has become, in his first few days in our home, a member of our family and can’t imagine never having him in the house. Not only is his innate intelligence obvious in his performance in the field, but also in how he has adapted to the environment. He continues to work through his “puppiness” but we have taken him and worked on reinforcing the basics we started and he hasn’t really missed a beat. While the weather hasn’t allowed for too much hunting we have taken him out on 6 placed Chukars, using the check cord and e-collar and he did great. Not only was his “nose” amazing his points were classic in style and the distance he was able to locate and lock on was outstanding – don’t think I will have to worry too much about “flushing wild”. While he had never hunted those birds it only took a few minutes for him to remember what we were there for and he didn’t fail to deliver. He delivered the bird to hand and while we need to continue to work on the “whoa to the bird” his performance was top notch. I couldn’t be happier with him and the training you provided and your offers to continue to answer any questions. While I didn’t get any pics in the field, I will send you some as I plan on getting him out every couple of weeks going forward.
We went out again in March, and what a trooper. The day we went (it was a Continental Hunt and Clean up) and in the clean up Ike really did a good job. The mud was deep and I knew he “got acquainted” with some down barb wire but I couldn’t see anything and he sure didn’t act like he was hurt. When I got him home, and gave him a bath- I found a pretty good sized gash by the barbed wire. Vet said too late to stitch it up- just kept it clean and let it heal naturally. It is on the inner left front “armpit” so no big scar to see.
He is now about 55# and very popular when he goes anywhere there are people.
I was wanting to ask you if you could send to me any pictures you may have of Ike when he was a little puppy. Your website won’t let me save them so I thought you might still have the digital copies somewhere.
We are really looking forward to going to South Dakota -and will share pics and a report back to you
Mike,
Thought I'd just send you a quick note on Izzy's first birthday, along with a few photo's taken at my office. She has been such a delight this first year. I had her out hunting at 5 1/2 months and but 6 months of age she was challenging the older dogs to bring the birds back in. She's a well mannered easy going dog that just loves my grandchildren ( as well as all the kids around ) Gentle when she needs to be but loves to run, run, run with other dogs or the kids. She was easy to train, comes when called, and stay within hunting range when in the field. I am always getting compliments on her looks and disposition. Thanks Art
Mike~
Thank you so much for the very nice visit with Jazzy yesterday. It's good to see how her training is coming along, and I appreciate the time you spent with me. Thanks for answering all of my questions so patiently. It was a pleasure to get to know you and your kennel better.
I'm sure I'll be visiting again in a couple of weeks...it's kind of hard to stay away, lol!
Best to you and June....

Just wanted to update you on our "Liv" who is 2 years old today. What a sweet, good natured dog. We couldn't be happier with her. Her bowl is always full and she eats when she wants. Her weight stays at 38-39 pounds. She's a petite little one.We just got back from a trip and needed to have her boarded. When our daughter picked her up they told her they hoped we wouldn't come for her, they wanted to keep her. They had let Liv out with some other dogs and they unearthed a rabbit's nest. The other 2 dogs killed a couple of the bunnies and Liv took one gently in her mouth and took it to the people. She's a gentle soul with a soft mouth. She's an excellent rider and will curl up in the seat for hours when we go to northern Wisconsin. When we have her out walking (we don't hunt) people stop and admire her beautiful coat.I'm not sure if you keep records on your dogs but if you do I will continue to update you yearly. Just let me know.Phyllis & Don
